His name, "Ho or Hou" is named after Bungo in Oita prefecture and "syu" is from Nansyu which was the penname of famous Takamori Saigo. This name perfectly represents Hosyu's passion for tourism.

Sajibei was a brother of Benzou Yoda who developed Tokachi. Tokachi is the highest bean producing area and has long daylight hours in summer. 豆陽亭, Toyo-tei, 豆 means beans and 陽 is Chinese character used to describe the sun, 太陽. Therefore, Toyo-tei is the best suited name for our hotel in Tokachi.
